Destiny Shantell Woodbury

Managing Director, Learning Hub Program Manager

Destiny Shantell Woodbury is from Providence, Rhode Island. She is in her 15th year in education and is the Founder and CEO of The Anchor School. She is also a Doctoral Student at Vanderbilt University. She began her teaching career with Teach for America in 2007. She has worked at the Teach For America Houston Institute in many roles for 11 years around leading instructional coaches and content facilitators. She is a School Improvement Consultant where she conducts district and school reviews, equity audits, reports on key findings, supports partners in identifying high-leverage and sustainable solutions, and supports the implementing individualized school improvement plans through needs assessments, planning, and continuous improvement strategies. Previously, she was a School Leader at YES Prep where she reduced the suspension incident rate (students with 1+ incidents) from 44% to 15% and the total number of incidents from 637 incidents to 144 incidents from August 2017 to March 2018. Prior to joining YES Prep, she was a School Leader in Achievement First in Brooklyn, NY. Destiny was a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development (MTLD) with Teach For America Houston, where she coached 37 first and second-year STEM CMs within KIPP Houston and YES Prep. She taught for 5 years as a fifth-grade science teacher on KIPP Houston, now KIPP Texas, and was also the grade level chair, science content chair, MS Science teacher leader and curriculum leader, robotics coach, and head track and field coach. In 2015, her students were ranked #1 out of all KIPP middle schools across the nation on the 2014-2015 NWEA MAP Assessment and generated the highest student achievement in fifth-grade science in school history by over 25%, 94% of students met their typical growth goals (RIT), 89% of students met their tiered growth targets and grew an average of 3.51 years (magnitude of growth). Destiny was also a finalist for the nationally prestigious 2015 TNTP Fishman Prize for Superlative Classroom Practice award. Prior to joining KIPP in 2010, she spent 3 years in the HISD teaching 8th and 6th grade Science. She received her B.S. and B.A. in Chemistry and Secondary Education with a minor in Leadership Studies from the University of Rhode Island Kingston, RI, and received her Masters in Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from National-Louis University, in Chicago, IL. She was a professional track athlete who trained for the 2008 and 2012 Olympics in the 400 Meters. Destiny enjoys cleaning, organizing, working out twice a day, and spending time with the people who love and support her.

Aasha Trosper

Learning Hub Ambassador and 2nd Grade Teacher

Hello My name is Aasha and I am a 5th year teacher in Oakland at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary  School. I am originally am from Chicago where I attended undergraduate school. I completed my California teaching credential and Masters in Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University. I currently live in Oakland with my 4 year old dog Moon. In my free time I enjoy arts and crafts such as knitting and am currently an aspiring ceramicist

Izamary Rios

Learning Hub Ambassador and 2nd Grade Teacher

Izamary Rios is on her fourth-year teaching. She taught first grade for three years. During those 3 years she taught at a bilingual immersion model for two years. This year she is teaching Second grade at San Francisco Unified. Izamary was born and raised in Colorado and moved to the Bay Area in 2018 when she got accepted into Teach For America. She completed her credential and graduated with her Master of Arts in Urban Education with a concentration in Digital Learning from Loyola Marymount. In her free time Izamary enjoys reading, working out, being outdoors, and spending time with her loved ones. 

Claudia Dumpson

Learning Hub Ambassador and 6th Grade ELA/SS Teacher

Hi! My name is Claudia Dumpson. I am a 2017 TFA  Alum. I currently teach 6th grade ELA and Social Studies at Columbia Middle School in Sunnyvale School District. Previously, during my time as a corps member, I worked as a dual immersion 3rd and 5th grade teacher at Adelante II Dual Language Academy in San Jose. I love traveling, cooking, coffee, spending time with loved ones, and unashamedly watching reality TV.

Heather Cisowski

Learning Hub Ambassador and 9-12th Grade Special Education Teacher

Heather Cisowski is a special education teacher at Los Altos High School who also grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Heather has been a dedicated special educator for 16 years at the middle school and high school levels. Heather fell in love with working in education when she was an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania while working in the West Philadelphia schools. After earning her B.A. from UPenn, Heather went on to teach as a Las Vegas Valley corps member in 2005. While a corps member in the LVV, Heather earned her masters in special education in 2007 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and taught basketball and led the student council and the middle school. From Las Vegas, Heather returned to the San Francisco Bay Area and taught high school while earning her clear special education credential at San Jose State University. Upon returning to California, Heather has taught primarily taught students at the high school level with therapeutic and behavioral needs. Heather is passionate about providing an education to all students by providing a safe and loving environment for even the most vulnerable students. Heather lives in the Los Gatos mountains with her ten year old daughter and many pets.

Alina Enoiu

Learning Hub Ambassador and 3rd Grade Teacher

I was born in Romania and moved to the United States with my family when I was 5 years old. After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2014, I taught 1st and 2nd grade in Denver, Colorado for 3 years. During this time, I also earned my teaching credential and Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Colorado, Denver. In 2017, I moved back to the Bay Area and began teaching 3rd grade. This is my 8th year teaching and I am currently teaching virtually at Fremont Unified. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and travel. I am currently planning a trip to Africa this summer to see the lions and gorillas! 

Adrienne Loftus

Learning Hub Ambassador and Middle School Science Teacher

Adrienne is a science teacher at Betty Reid Soskin Middle School in Richmond, CA. Originally from southwest Texas, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in biology, focusing in ecology, evolution, and behavior. Prior to teaching, she studied invasive species and the way that introduced fire ants impacted native biodiversity in central Texas. She is a 2019 Bay Area TFA corps member and is in her third year in education. While teaching, she completed a M.A. in Urban Education (literacy concentration) from Loyola Marymount University. In her free time, Adrienne likes bicycles, hikes, and her two cats.

Lynh Nguyen

My name is Lynh Nguyen. I am currently a third year Kindergarten teacher at Harding Elementary (El Cerrito, CA). I graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a B.A. in Psychology and am currently working towards my Masters of Education at National University. Some of my hobbies include walking my dog, doing puzzles, and exploring new places.
