Curated by: Julianna Parra

Why: This project has helped my students develop more pride in who they are and appreciation for the connections as well as differences among our class. I believe that this assignment also show my students how much I value who they are beyond academics.

What: This project gives students the opportunity to reflect on their identity and share what makes up who they are in a safe way. Throughout the process students are given examples, brainstorming time, my own poem and the opportunity to make a visual to go along with it.

How: You can make a copy of these slides, adapt the assignment for a platform like Peardeck like our art teacher, Mrs. Munoz or use the handout as starting point for your class. Make sure to replace my poem example with your own so students can have the chance to learn more about you as well!
